As a form of collaboration with the Department of Engineering Science and Ocean Engineering – NTU Taiwan, 2 students of the Master of Ocean Engineering study program participated in a student exchange program sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Higher Education. The two students are Ismail Agni and Sholihati Lathifa who visited NTU’s Department of Engineering and Ocean Engineering in Taipei – Taiwan. On this 5 week visit, the two students were placed under the guidance of Prof. S. W Chau to conduct preliminary research from each other’s proposed topics.

In this activity, the research topic chosen by the two students was regarding wind turbine power plants placed at sea, and at the end of the visit students were asked to make a brief presentation of the results of the research conducted. In addition to learning about research topics, on this visit students get cultural experience and ways of life in Taiwan.
