On Monday, August 3, 2020, the inaugural meeting was held between the Chairman of the Master’s Program of Ocean Engineering ITB Alamsyah Kurniawan and the students. This inaugural meeting was held online from the ITB Ocean Engineering Online Lecture Room Facility and the students in their respective homes.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Study Program delivered a number of important matters related to teaching and learning activities during the upcoming semester. One of the most important things is related to lectures that will be held entirely online. Thus, regular lecture activities, thesis guidance, and thesis seminars and hearings will be held online as well. Master’s Program of Ocean Engineering ITB has been carrying out online lecturing activities online since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue in the coming semester with more mature SOPs and technicalities.
The Chairman of the Study Program also reminded about the importance of good communication in the midst of a period when all lecture needs went online both to lecturers and to administration. This is done to avoid miscommunication due to the large flow of information entering.
At the meeting, the 2nd Online Lecture Room of ITB Ocean Engineering was tested with adequate audio and video infrastructure. This Online Lecture Room allows students to see exposure and writing from lecturers comfortably and at the same time does not require much adaptation from lecturers from their respective teaching styles.
With the technical readiness and enthusiasm of the lecturers and students in the midst of a pandemic, the Master’s Program of Ocean Engineering ITB is very optimistic to be able to run the First Semester 2020-2021 effectively.
