From September 2013 to March 2014, for 6 months, two students of the Master of Ocean Engineering Study Program, Meirita Ramdhani, and Franciscus Jimmy Lukman, were selected in the Excellence Center for Development Cooperation (EXCEED) program where through the EXCEED program the German government collaborated with the Research Agency and Maritime and Fisheries Development, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries – Indonesia and Master of Ocean Engineering Study Program – ITB.

The two students conducted research at the Department of Hydromechanics and Coastal Engineering, Leichtweiss Institute of Hydraulic Engineering, TU-Braunschweig, Germany on tsunami prevention that occurred in Indonesia. The tsunami prevention research includes two activities, namely modeling the physical model test conducted by Franciscus Jimmy Lukman and numerical modeling conducted by Meirita Ramdhani.
