
On Wednesday, September 21, 2011, the Master of Ocean Engineering Study Program – FTSL – Bandung Institute of Technology received a visit from Assoc. Prof. Takayuki Suzuki and Postgraduate student, Fumiya Togashi from Yokohama National University.
This visit was held as an implementation of the MoU between Yokohama National University (YNU) and ITB, where one of the programs is student exchange between the two institutions.
Postgraduate student, Fumiya Togashi from Yokohama National University will be in the Ocean Engineering Masters Study Program for 8 weeks to conduct a comparative study on the response of the Indonesian and Japanese people to the Tsunami Early Warning System and to the dangers of Tsunami under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Takayuki Suzuki (YNU) and Dr. Hendra Achiari (ITB).
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Takayuki Suzuki also gave a guest lecture to master students of Ocean Engineering about Tsunamis in Japan. After giving a guest lecture, Assoc. Prof. Takayuki Suzuki held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Ocean Engineering Expertise Group (KK) and the Manager of the Master of Ocean Engineering Study Program (Irsan Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Ph.D.) to discuss the implementation of the MoU between the two universities, especially in the field of joint research, exchange of teaching staff and students, and organizing joint seminars/conferences.
